Fulvia Staub: My story
Being Italian
I have always been in love with fashion, fabric, colours and dresses. As a teenager, instead of wearing the same fashionable off-the shelf clothes as my friends, I preferred to have my own self-designed dresses realized by my mother’s tailor. Later on, love led me to Switzerland and my career to the world of finance, but even in this environment I dressed femininely and creatively.
I am an aesthete who loves all forms of beauty: that special harmony of colors, shapes and forms that moves us in an inexplicable way and makes the grey everyday life fly away.

Three events
completely changed my professional life: a summer course in fashion trends forecasting at Polimoda in Florence during a sabbatical; a course in Fashion Image and Styling at Marangoni Institute in Milan.
On a trip to Bali, by chance I discovered those hand-woven Balinese Ikat silk fabrics with their incredible variety of colours and mysteriously blurred patterns.
It was love at first sight!

Those Ikat sarongs
Put a spell on me, and I began to dream about a collection made of singular, absolutely unique, stunning dresses. My dresses should exude solar radiance, grace and poise and celebrate the feminine silhouette. They should be a chic alternative for business, city shopping strolls or elegant garden and cocktail parties. This was and still is my personal envision of Slow Fashion.
So I launched my label YPNOSIA.
Discover the fascinating combination of the meticulous craftsmanship of the Balinese Ikat technique and the classic elegance of Italian Alta Sartoria.
